Ignite: Manager Validations (Process for GMs & DMs)

  • Updated

Weekly training validations are built into all of our manager-in-training (MIT) programs.

Click here to see how your MITs indicate they're ready for validation.

Validating MITs in Ignite is a 2-part process:

Part 1 (steps 2-10 below): complete the validation guide

Part 2 (steps 12-14 below): mark the MIT as "pass"

You must complete Part 2 in order for the MIT's training to show as complete in Ignite.

Part 1

1. Once your MIT has indicated they're ready for validation, you will see them in your Awaiting Validation widget on your Ignite home page.

NOTE: You are still able to complete a weekly training validation for the MIT even if they are not listed. Proceed to the next step like you normally would.

2. On your Ignite home page, tap the Training Validations button.

3. On the top right of the Training Validations page, tap the location dropdown to select your MIT's restaurant.

4. After selecting the restaurant, tap the +More Checklists button.

5. Tap to select the appropriate validation guide (based on training week, manager role, and new hire / promote).

6. Tap the User dropdown menu and select the MIT. Tap Start.

NOTE: You do not need to select a due date or time.

7. If the page appears blank, refresh your web browser. You will see the in-progress validation. Tap to open it.

8. Tap on each header to expand the topic and to evaluate your MIT (pass/fail) on that subject.

9. If you select fail, you can create a follow-up task (optional).

If you want to create a follow-up task:

Tap Corrective Action.

Type the name and description of the follow-up task. Scroll down to select a due date and tag a user.

EXAMPLE: If the follow-up task is for the GM to conduct a one on one, you could tag the GM. If the task is for the MIT to review the Wok Steps, you could tag the MIT.

10. Once you assess all topics, tap Submit.

The validation process is not complete until you perform steps 12-14.

NOTE: If you need to pause the validation, tap Save & Exit. You can resume the validation at any time. It's possible to have multiple open validations across multiple restaurants.

You, your managers, and your MIT can see open follow-up tasks. They can tap on a task to see details, leave notes, and change the task status to In Progress or Resolved.

You can see all of the completed validations and follow-up tasks by tapping History.

NOTE: While a training validation checklist or follow-up task is open/in progress, all managers will be able to view the item and notes. Once a validation or follow-up task is closed, only the GM and the tagged manager will be able view it.
